WiDesk - smart desktop
Modern desktop devices help us work more efficiently, but there is plenty of room for improvement based on user experience.
This project was inspired by the research of duo-screen interaction on a personal workstation. From the research, we learned about significant painful experiences of the current Desktop/AIO PC users. We then translated our findings into the user needs. Finally, we designed a new product, WiDesk, to bring a more secure and efficient working style to Desktop/AIO PC users.
Observation and interview
According to observations in office life and interviews with several employees, I have identified the following significant painful experiences:

It's hard to add my opinions, ideas and remarks in the file shown on the screen
I want to find files quickly but
I still need to wait for the computer to turn on.
How can I quickly save the handwritten notes, calendar events and post-it ?
There are just too many reference windows and documents, how can I work more efficiently
Personal account, password and credit card information always show on the screen nakedly.
Several typos are discovered when I look up to the screen.
Consequently, we have derived the five main user demands :
-
Handwriting is the most efficient way on the desk.
-
All tools are readily reachable whenever needed.
-
Focusing on single window when you are working.
-
Absorbing the latest news
-
Privacy protection
